On 15 May 1958, the 36th Fighter Day Wing was re-designated as the 36th Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW), with its squadrons re-designated as Tactical Fighter Squadrons, because its missions had now grown to include delivery of tactical nuclear weapons. Machine-embroidered patch measures 3.75" by 3.5", used condition. Has "cheese cloth" backing. Very rare.
