The 333rd Fighter Squadron, a unit of the United States Air Force, played a role in the Vietnam War as part of the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing. The squadron was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina and was equipped with F-105 Thunderchief aircraft. The F-105 was a supersonic fighter-bomber that was heavily used in the Vietnam War for various missions, including bombing runs. During the Vietnam War, the 333rd Fighter Squadron conducted combat operations in Southeast Asia, primarily in North Vietnam and Laos. Their missions included close air support for ground troops, interdiction strikes against enemy targets, and bombing runs against key strategic targets. This Vietnam war in-country machine embroidered patch measures approximately 3.5" high by 3.3" wide. Patch has "cheese cloth" backing. Very rare.
